People have done this.... Hmmmmmm interesting. Does anybody know what is involved? Radcliffe St. in Englewood, CO) and they have an '82 Westy in their lot. It has been gone over pretty well, not much left (hit hard in the front--looks like it hit a tree,) but it does have a full poptop in great condition, hinges look perfect, everything is there, no mold, needs a poptop seal, and with a perfect canvas. The inside of the poptop didn't have a single stain, either. Really nice condition. I asked the guys behind the counter how much for the top, if they cut it for me at the pillars, and they said $200-250. When I told them it would be to add a poptop to a non-Westy, they looked at me like I was crazy. "no," I said, "people do this...I've seen it!" I mulled it over but don't want to risk messing my GL up. So, if anybody in or near Denver is looking to add a poptop, there it is... Joe T.
