Swaying in the wind... eric a a fine fellow and central coast syncro
afficionado mentioned that subsituting the South African Shocks for the OMEs
might help my dangerous oversteer, that was some time ago. I have the BFG
AT TaKo 215/715-15 tires, the infamous schvenkenstein suspension including
the vastly overpriced OME shocks. I had a simply dangerous oversteer after
installing the setup that allowed SWMABO to refuse to drive the Westie
Syncro SVX Superslabber transmission rippin' gas guzzlin' 5400lb brick.
Sooo in the interest of maintaing some semblance of former domestic
tranquility I exchanged positions from box to syncro. OME off, SA on. ya
shore yabetcha that eric feller was DFO! Poof! as if by magic the evils of
schvenkenstein whoopsiedoo herd em between the guard rails, chester and mind
the gap disappeared. One size clearly does not fit all. With the 12k$
upgrade and it's additional 200lbs in the rear, the steady tinkle of change
into the money pit, the propensity to carry TWO flyrods and various other
necessaries, the schvenkenstein suspension was not up to the task. Fixed
for now. Awaiting the next "shoe".
The addition of the larger radius wheels mean you will have a proportional
reduction in braking force for the already piteously whiny original brakes.
Adding the SA WAAAY overpriced Overhand/underhand kit allows one to approach
normalcy again... Eric Didier has the real answer the details of which are
left as an exercise to the diligent reader.
Off to the wilds of Calgary via Elko, Picabo, Stanley, Eureka, and thence to
Blue River, Kamloops, Vancouver (wreck beach, Empress, Granville Brewing,
etc), Oly Park, Seattle, and that garden spot of the west, Tacoma, to visit
the local district attorney's office to try to figure out how to stop the
bleeding. Thence to Tom's to discover he's off to the South Pacific leaving
his eloquent brother in charge of all things disconnectable, and perhaps to
visit a bit with Darryl, daryl or his other brother, Darrel at hay and hey!
transaxle regarding future investments. After of course I replace the
&^%$#@! defective tire tomorrow.
In the end entropy wins without even trying.
