looks like something the ice companies came up with! ;) ... to melt your ice quicker.

and yes, it seems to me that a couple of 12v computer muffin fans and some cutting of a styrofoam lid would do the same thing. ;) for a whole lot less money, and using a lot less current (that thing uses 0.4 amps! drain your battery overnight).
