I took the van back to my mechanic to check the high side pressure but he couldn't find the valve. I found it for him after I brought it home. He said he put less 134 in than before but the high speed fan symptoms are worse. Needles to say I'm not running the AC til after my vacation. Don't need any explosions. Any advice for him or me on how much pressure to charge the system with, or do you need a different high pressure switch? I'm really uncomfortable with what's going on now and wish I had just stayed with the old R-12. It was an economic choice at the time. This was cheaper than the R-12 charge I needed. Also he didn't change the filter/drier, just evacuated the system and put in the 134, This is how they are doing it now he said. Help! I love my AC.
