Subject: '87 Westy stalling when cold
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hi All,

I have an '87 Westy 4-sp with about 30K miles on an AVP reman engine. Unless I keep my foot on the gas after starting it, the engine will stall until it warms up. After it's warm, if I shut the engine off for more than a few minutes, the same thing happens. Kind of annoying. I replaced the coolant temp sensor (blue) but no luck. Coolant temp gauge reads the way it always has. I don't think it's the idle control valve as the idle isn't oscillating. I haven't tuned it up since the getting the new engine so I'll do that shortly. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks much!

Jeff
