Simon,

RE: Step 1 - chrome strip.

- Is this the strip on the outside that runs down the center of the outer rubber seal? If not, then there is just the rubber molding on the inside.

- If it is the one on the outside, I have heard they are a *bear* to get back in. Comments?

thanks, Joe

1. Pull out the "chrome" strip, if equipped. 2. Go around the inside with your fingers or a gentle tool, loosening up the rubber as it's probably a little stuck to the headliner material. 3. Push on the inside. SPREAD YOUR FORCE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I use one palm for pushing, and the other hand to help the rubber through. Push very close to the rubber. I start at the upper rear corner. 4. Have your helper (outside) maintain gentle traction on the glass as it comes out; just enough to keep it out. If they pull, you'll see the glass bend a bit... and then maybe break. 5. The glass wants to stay in there. It's OK to thump it a bit, but not too hard, and remember to spread out your force.
