I have an inflatable kayak, and bought a cheap inflator pump at Kmart in the camping section. Can't remember the brand. Intermatic comes to mind. It is red plastic and works on 12v from lighter plug. less than $10. It is fast, and loud. I am sensitive to loud sounds of certain frequencies, and this is pretty annoying. But you can't beat the speed it will inflate large items. It will not develop much pressure, just a lot of air volume. On my kayak, I give the large chambers 2 or 3 puffs from my lungs when the air pump is done, and it is fine. For a mattress, you may not even need to do this depending on how firm you like it.
