Hi,

Newbie here. I'd like to share a picture of our newly-acquired '87 Westy, but it's in for Major Surgery!

We bought it "as is" for a good price. Turns out the seller was less than forthright about its condition. Diagnosis: it needed either a lotta' fixing for a lotta' money, or else a new engine for a whole lotta' money plus some more.

We opted to go the second route, thinking that if you're making that many repairs the thing is ready to go soon anyway. And, we'll have a bit more confidence in it.

We weren't pleased about the deception. But in the end monetarily, we're not horribly done, and this way we know what we're running.

So we're eagerly awaiting our ride, and in the meanwhile we're getting vicarious joy from hearing about other folks' adventures.
