My parents have a 20 foot travel trailer that I can pull to the Gulf of Mexico using my dad's truck. We plan to keep it down there most or all of the year, mostly in off-site storage. When for several weeks or so, once or twice a year, I'd like to take it out of storage and set it up. What would be the feasibility of using the vanagon for such a task? Assuming it would be on the same property as the RV park, would it hurt to tow it (estimated 2500 lbs, but I'll check) a fraction of a mile on flat ground? Can the cheapo hitch that bolts onto the hold-down eyes be used for this? Thanks if anyone knows or has an opinion. Jim |
