When I replaced the plugs on my 85 I thought I'd have to gap them too. The plugs the local VW haus sold me have three prongs evenly spaced around the electrode. No gapping there. I've been wondering the whole time if they put the wrong plugs in before I bought it or I was sold the wrong plugs. Volkscafe sells 3 prong plugs as: "What VW sold the van with, although many owners feel they have no advantage over the regular plugs" I don't have enough information on the topic to come to a conclusion, but my van starts, idles, and runs really well. -Russell >From: Aerowolf <aerowolf@GMAIL.COM> >Reply-To: Aerowolf <aerowolf@GMAIL.COM> >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Proper gap for spark plug 85 1.9L? >Date: Fri, 9 Jul 2004 19:26:47 -0500 > >What's the proper gap for spark plugs on a 1985 1.9L wasserboxer?
