This happend to my '77 Caddie too. And a Nissan 200sx I drove for a while. My van does the same thing after I replaced the pads, I don't let it bother me. You can't pick up some spray-stuff at the local Auto parts store called BrakeQuiet or Brake STFU or something like that, works great.

What bothers me more about the brakes on my van is the 1/2 inch wide and 1/8 inch deep gouge in both rotors from some jerk not bothering to replace the pads. The pads have worn to fit the rotors. :) Seems like such an easy DIY maintanance item to ignore.....
