I assume you're going to the Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point; brace yourself for a lot of Gordon Lightfoot. Tahquamenon Falls is near by. We have tried to take the boat cruise to the Pictured Rocks two or three times, but the lake has always been too rough. If you're going up toward Copper Harbor, inquire about the tour of an old copper mine near Houghton-Hancock. The serious tourist trap is near the bridge; Mackinac Island and Fort Mackinac are reached by high speed ferry from Mackinaw City. It's a whole day excursion. I found Colonial Michilimackinac and its fort interesting. It's near Mackinaw City in the shadow of the bridge at the very tip of the L.P.

Have fun. Learn ta talk like a Yuper, hey? Larry A.
