Subject: temp sensor blinking question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi all havent needed to follow anyone elses info on blinking temp light until now. i have a 84 vanagon 7 pass 4spd with only 20 k miles on it that i just put a new exhaust and front brakes on from sitting for so long. i took it on it maiden voyage of 8 miles just last weekend. the gauge slowly went up to about mid gauge and the coolant light LED started to blink. i checked the motor when i shut it down and it seemed a decent operating temp. im not sure what to check and i dont think that the coolant fan even kicked on but i can check to make sure it is operational. for normal not hard running would the coolant get warm enough to trigger the fan to come on? the coolant level is good from the 2 aft tanks so im not sure if i just need to bleed the system maybe or what. my 85 westi fan wouldnt kick on unless i was just sitting in one place for some time on a very warm day. any ideas or what to check 1st. i did check the connector plugs at the sending switch with no change. i just want to fix it quick so im asking the vanagon gods so i dont need alot of trial and error on my part. thanks Jonce also im sure i have the spare parts just not sure what to swap out thanks Jonce
