Volks,
I'm posting this solution, although I'm not exactly sure of what fixed it,
for archival purposes and also to let folks know I was able to fix the
maddening squeaking in my front brakes.  I made sure I had logged over 100
miles to first see if the squeak would settle in on it's own.  I also
realized that only the passenger side was squeaking and the driver's side
was perfectly quiet.  I enjoy driving in my Westy so much and mostly use it
for camping excursions.  Therefore although the squeak was a relatively
minor nuisance, it was driving me insane.

This morning I pulled the new OEM pads I had put in and lathered on an extra
heaping portion of anti-squeak goo and reinstalled everything.  I also used
a can of that pressurized air stuff, which is normally used for cleaning
electronic equipment, and clean all of the dust and gunk away from the
braking system.

I just took it for a 10 mile test drive and to my excitement, no squeak!
One of the pads looked to have some weird wear on it, which I'm assuming
where the squeaking was originating from.
