Subject: scat valve covers installed
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I bought the polished stainless scat valve covers from my local vw guy today, $29.00 and they included new clips and gaskets, I couldn't get my right side to stop leaking, and I got lots of advice from the list, maybe warped cover, maybe pinholes in the cover. When I put the new gear on it was quite apparent that my old clips were not nearly as strong as the new ones. My old ones could be clipped into position by hand, and a slight encouragement from a screwdriver, got them off. Well the new ones, required quite a bit of encouragement from a screwdriver to get them to clip into position, they hold CONSIDERABLY tighter than the old ones. As a matter of fact with the old ones on, you could grab the cover with your hand and wiggle it around; I guess they were way too loose.

Thanks for the help

Jerry
