What would be a good selling price for a 1983 water-cooled with 154,000.  Body good shape and engine runs and doesn't smoke or leak.  Only bad thing is dead battery.  

I have checked Kelly etc.  I priced $950 with a few calls all no shows.

Has anyone with similar experience had better luck than the paper.  

Out of work, need to move without the vanagon.
