Subject: Re: Squeaking Wheels When Brakes Not Applied
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset=us-ascii

Josh- Not saying it's normal, altho I am slowly redefining "normal" weekly for my Westy... but my symptoms are identical- squeaking stops at a touch of the brakes, sometimes on turns, and is intermittent in general... you can imagine the torsion from turning the wheel (and the change of weight distribution on those componenets) "moving" parts of the brake/wheel setup enough to effect rubbing... sorta-kinda-not unlike how a cv-joint on it's way out is (nearly) silent on straightaways, but cackles and crunches on turns- pressure applied differently.

It's been a few months, and I cannot see any odd wearing on the pads/discs, and cannot locate the source... maddening... So I turn the radio up!

Mike
