Subject: Chrome hub caps won't fit on ONE wheel?!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hey y'all, I tried to swipe my brother in law's 70's bus center caps and put them on my westfalia. His poor little bus is probably never going to see pavement again. I shined them up, dents and all, and then tried to put them on my 85 westy. Three of them went on but one, the front passenger wheel, wouldn't accept it. The center cap of the spindle sticks out just a little too far to allow the hubcap to fit. I've defintely seen vanagons and westies with center cap style hubcaps. Are there deeper dishes available? For now I am stuck with my five spoke target chrome racing caps that look about as cheesey as can be. They are only slightly less cheesey than no caps. My originals had hit too many curbs with the po and started falling off at speed... oh no!
