Hi all, I am interested by this one too. I was wondering what exact symptoms Larry had too. I recenlty acquired a very nice 87. We went way for a 10 day trip. On the way back, the 4th gear started to slip out or jump out. It happened (and got worse) when I was under rpm (ex; in a light hill, like if it was forcing me to go into 3rd gear). Any pressure or accelaration, it poped out, like if it was not able to take any torque. I was able to get back home in 3rd gear. and 4th gear when descending hills or fully "lanced"/engaged (at full speed) and eventually slightly pressing the clucth. My top speed was btw 80 and 105 km/h. There is ablsolutely no grinding or anything. it pops out smoothly. I will have my trusted mechanic have a look on it. But he is busy right now. What should I have him look at ? I still drive it for short distances occasionnaly. But I try to avoid it. What is your input on this? JP |
