Subject: OEM Pop Top Seals and Fibreglass Oxidation
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

-----Original Message----- After much deliberation between the after market seal vs the OEM, I decided I want the OEM one.

I don't know your reasoning for OEM but I've just received my Bus Depot pop-top seals and I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality.

Before I put them on I cleaned the pop-top of my 83.5 Westy, it hadn't been touched since it was new by the look of it. I used a rotary buffer with a sponge pad and fine automotive rubbing compound. The top came up like new. The fiberglass gleams. 3M also makes a product that is a Marine fiberglass cleaner and wax. I saw it in a marine store for $16 and Walmart for $8. I can't comment on how well it works because it contains silicone and the van is in my friend's body shop and apparently the silicone particles will hang around for months to come and ruin every re-spray he attempts.

Should I wax, condition, whatever... the top?
