No, you should only have one pump.

There are two variations... some westies have the pump in the tank, some
have it below the little shelf at the bottom of the sink compartment. I
don't know when Wesfalia made the changeover (or even if they switched back
& forth more than once). I do know that my US market '85 has the pump in
the water tank.

I suspect that any self-priming RV pump would work nicely.
