Subject: rebuilt distributor
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi All,

Question: Any thoughts/ pros/ cons on using a rebuilt (as opposed to new) distributor for an 84 1.9L? How would you rate the difficulty in general of pulling and replacing the distributor on the wasserboxers?

My Hall generator decided to blow itself to smithereens- bits of plastic and magnet (ok, well just 2 bits of magnet!) all over in the distributor- I am considering a rebuilt distributor instead of just trying to replace the Hall generator, as it looks like I'll have to pull the distrib. to clean it thoroughly, and a whole rebuilt w/ cap and rotor is less than 2x the cost of the Hall generator itself.

Thanks for any help/thoughts, mkMike
