Check that the starter is wired correctly. You have two wires that go to the solenoid. One of them activates the fuel pump while the starter is cranking until the air flow switch in the air flow meter is activated. The water cooled Vanagons use the ignition pulses to activate the pump.

Hi guys, I can't start my air cooled engine. Something to do with the activation of the fuel pump and the injectors. Should I rather ask others? Or is there any of you who can help with this? I changed the relay, the pump works if power applied to it, there is spark, compression is 150 or better all over. I am not sure if the injectors are activated either. Help needed. Zoltan
