The Westy's awesome! I can't think of anything I'd change on mine. The lack of toilet is probably a design decision, based on size. I think the thread has more to do with Vanagon problems. Honestly, the only complaint I have about my van (after ditching the wbx, of course), is about the flimsy bumpers. Yeah, the thing is slow, but actually it wasn't so bad back when we had a double-nickel speed limit... which is when they were sold...
