As long as your CVs don't have broken bearing cages and both the inner and
outer drives are unbroken you can easily get another 30,000 miles out of
them if you keep them lubed up good.
Porsche uses a seal to keep the grease in and that's not a bad idea since VW
just skipped over it.
If you got good Boots and lots of grease I doubt you'd ever have a complete
failure ........... just noise.
