I think anything you can try is worth the effort.


If you can cut a slot in it with a hacksaw, you may be able to use a
screwdriver to loosen it.


You can also just cut the head off with a hacksaw blade.  I've done this
several times, and found that once I removed the CV, you could just remove
the rest of the bolt with my fingers.
