Hey list, I replaced the shoes and cylinders in my '86 this weekend. When I had the brake lines disconnected while swapping out the cylinders, enough brake fluid drained out to empty the reservoir behind the dash. My question is this: Is there a possibility of air getting into the other lines (front brakes, clutch) with this reservoir being emptied and subsequently filled? I have bled the rear brakes and the reservoir is full again. My brake peddle is also pulsating like crazy - but I think it has something to do with the drums being out of round, or me botching the brake job. If I pull up the E-brake while moving - you can feel the van "pulsing" to a stop.
I read somewhere that if your brake peddle pulses, a quick way to determine where it is coming from is to slowly apply the e-brake while you are moving, if it "pulses" then the problem is the rear brakes, if it doesn't, then the problem is your front brakes. Andrew
