Hi Robert, Get some taller tires! The carat is already lower than a stock Vanagon anyway. If you put taller tires on the rims you can lower the engine rpms according to the increase in tire diameter. An inch taller tire would bring the rpms down by about 5%, and the carat would be back up to a stock vanagon height.
