I've done propane fumigation on the Jetta TD with good results. You can convert your WBX or inline four to propane. See mine here: http://www.telusplanet.net/public/gary2a/rack/propane/propane.htm The 2.0 liter 16v engine in my old passat wagon would also be a good propane engine because of it's 10.8:1 compression ratio. The MV WBX is less than ideal because of it's low CR. I've always wanted to build a turbocharged propane engine. The high octane of propane (115 plus) should overcome detonation problems. Also, propane fuel systems are able to deliver through a wide range, eliminating the need for supplemental fueling. Gary Lee Calgary, Canada http://www.telusplanet.net/public/gary2a/vw.htm |
