good people,

i'd like your advice on what you think a fair asking price would be for this van. i have seen similar vans going for over 10k but i think that's ridiculous. not that i wouldn't mind 10 big ones in my pocket, but i'm looking to be reasonable.

here are some photos:

and here are some details:

1986 volkswagen wolfsburg weekender with 166,000 mi., pop-top with spotless canvas, power-assisted steering, privacy glass, corduroy interior, water and oil tight.

all work has been completed by VolksCafe in santa cruz. when i first purchased it in october 2003, i had a buyer's inspection done, flushed the coolant and replaced the vulnerable hoses.

here's some of the work that i've had done: new catalytic converter new main seal new clutch new right rear cv axle replaced coolant hoses and performed coolant flush; added lower temp fan switch tune up: sparks, plugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor, timing adjustment oil changed every 3K

also, the van has a cd/radio. however, the stock speakers on the right side are no good anymore. the wiring to them is alive but the speakers are dead.

the A/C needs recharging per the guy I bought it from.

passenger side window is power, left side door was converted to manual - this is more dependable and less of a hassle so I've left it that way.

bentley manual included.

any guidance is much appreciated.

thanks
