I wanted to give an update on the fuel pressure regulator that I purchased from VoksCafe.

Bob Donalds, Bob Lilley, and Mark Drillock helped me to sort out my fuel problems that were due to a bad O2 sensor and bad fuel pressure regulator.

Well, the people at VolksCafe were amazing at taking back the bad Bosch regulator. No hassle, immediate response and immediate credit. Peter replied to me within a day of my initial inquiry about the return the regulator. These guys were just awesome. I've been buying from them for about 4 years and my experience has always been positive.

Westy is still running fine. Fuel pressure cruising at 24-30psi. Smooth idle. Good power (for a westy ;) O2 sensor is reconnected and fuel-air mixture hovers around 0.45volts.

BTW, I have a 3 speed automatic 1.9L and I just ordered a tach to monitor the engine when I charge up and down steep hills in mountainous campgrounds. When I'm going up steep hills in 1st or 2nd gears, what RPM should I keep the engine at? I'm talking about hills that I go over at a max of 30mph with the accelerator floored, usually cruising in the 20mph to 25mph range with the van working really hard. Same question for going downhill. I burned out a transmission going down a dirt road in low gear a couple of years ago and got stranded in a town of 75 people during the opening weekend of duck hunting season. (I don't hunt).
