Gowesty has replacement fans with better, quieter blades. I found one
on their ebay site (if I remember correctly) a lot cheaper than their
catalog price.

It seems that the fan being pointed where it's pointed is important,
and the muffin fan didn't seem to create the stream of air that the
original fan did. Of course if it does work as well, the muffin fan
will be quieter and probably last much longer.
