Subject: Horn ring replacement...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

The horn ring on the underside of the steering wheel has worn out. I can get the part, but it's not at all obvious to me how the ring comes out of the bottom of the steering wheel. Any tips?

I can also get a new contact (as part of the turn signal assembly), but I don't know if it is worn out enough to require replacing. The wiper for the horn is attached at the lower right, next to the assembly screw, and then it lifts "up" from the plate and then curves under itself to the left.

Very crude diagram, looking along the plate, sort of from the front of the seat, up at the windshield:

___ /_ \____ It's attached on the right end and curls like a breaking wave to the left.

Is that the correct shape? If not, I'll buy the replacement - at least that looks relatively straightforward to replace - lots of connections to get right, but obvious screws and such to remove and replace. --
