Is having the center seat unusual?  My '84 Westfalia Vanagon has it.  It can be unbolted and slid out the side door, after which covers are bolted over the seat rails to provide a relatively flat floor.

My sister used to have one of these and it had one really cool feature.
The cabinets, sink, stove, etc. was a single removable unit so that the
original center seat could be put back in when you aren't camping.
