Subject: vanagon interior sidepanel plastic
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

we're restoring an '81 vanagon that's been sitting for years.

The plastic sheeting that's glued onto the interior side panels (and the 'ceiling' and inside the cupboards) has perished and so we're pulling and scraping it all off, which leaves the side panels etc. slightly sticky and gluey.

What's the nicest / easiest / best way to deal with this? Just paint over the glue? Wash the glue off with some kind of solvent? Glue some more plastic on top of the glue? (What kind of plastic & what kind of glue?)

thanks for any ideas! Alan
