Our '85 Westfalia has a B2L Eberspacher gasoline heater that heats the cabin/living area. It was installed at the factory/dealer in Germany where the van was purchased new. The controls are near the bench seat and the unit itself is under the van in a sealed black box. We have used this heater for years and we have never had any problems with it other than having to replace fuel line hoses. The unit itself under the van appears from the outside to be in good shape- no rust, dents etc. Although the van itself has been well maintained, we doubt this 20 year old gasoline heater has ever been serviced. We are concerned that this heater is becoming a serious fire hazard. Does anyone know anything about this? Jim |
