Hi Volks, A few weeks ago I wrote in about a melted heater control cable which seemed to be linked to the lights on my '84 westy and got replies saying to check for a ground that is off, which could cause a short to the cable. Anyway, I since have taken the dash out, etc. and replaced the melted cable. While in there I removed the grounds on the driver side and cleaned up the contacts and mounts. I also cleaned up other wonky wiring. I cleaned up the main ground to the tranmission and the battery and checked the electrica connections to the lights behind the grill. I don't see any grounds that are loose or missing. Any other locations I'm missing or suggestions on how to approach this before I reinstall the dash. I don't want to melt these new heater control cables. Yikes, my wife will hurt me. Thanks in advance for all replies. Steve ('84 Westy - Moaning Myrtle) |
