Subject: '89 Wolfie Subwoofer Question

A question for you '89 Wolfsburg experts:

How is the '89 only subwoofer assembly wired?

A good friend of mine purchased a real nice '89 Wolfie last month that has a pretty decent Alpine stereo & CD changer. Unfortunately, the subwoofer is not hooked up. We've found the subwoofer leads from the stereo and some unused wires from the old radio wiring harness.

The Bentley shows 5 leads coming from the radio to a "amplified speaker, left front", with 2 more leads running from the "amplified speaker, left front" to the "amplified speaker, left center".

Does anyone know exactly (no guessing please) how these 5 wires are hooked up to a replacement stereo?

I've checked the two '89 Wolfies in my stable, but both have the original radios and are no help.

Many thanks.

Cheers,

Jeff
