Hi Volks- Thanks to my new mid-west volks friends, I was 'hipped' to the fuel line situation a couple of months ago, I am a new owner and was completely clueless. I got the fuel line replacement kit from Ken, and sucked it up and bought new distributors from the dealer. All to be installed prior to BNNTA in September. My question, though it may be a long-shot, anyone going to the busses event have a metal engine cover they would sell me, or trade? Looked for one on my last trip to Seattle, among other needed trim pieces, etc. (thanks to all who suggested junkyards in the area!) but since I was flying I really had no room in my luggage. As it was, I packed my new supergroovy, oak porta-potty cover/step stool/extra seat that my brother-in-law built me while I was there -- very heavy! The van is coming along nicely. This past weekend, I worked on the seam rust per suggestions from my volks budds -- POR 15 is awesome. Big job, though. Just when I thought I had it all taken care of, I saw more... It's taking forever for my topcoat of paint to dry, maybe the humidity is not helping. Had to rent a car today while the paint finishes drying, I got the "body shop" discount -- when they asked what bodyshop my car was at, I said proudly, "mine." Never thought I'd be doing this stuff, but again with the support and advice of my vwbuds, I'm finding out just what I am capable of (and of not ;). While many of you are on the topic of urine (how did that get started?) may I add that I've "heard" it's also a sure cure for athlete's foot fungus :) Gross. Peace and safe travels, -Diana Rochester, MN '84 Westy -- soon to be named.
