Robert,

I don't know about a "better" compressor, but you need to be very careful about looking for a *bigger* (i.e. higher displacement) compressor. The system throughput (especially the expansion valve and drier) are sized for a specific volumetric flow. Upsizing without taking system design into account is a recipe for too-high head pressures, and system failure. If you want to upsize something, a bigger condenser will *almost always* significantly increase efficiency. Cheers,

Keith Hughes

Will be doing some A/C work in the near future and was wondering if there is a better/larger capacity than a stock replacement compressor that will fit in the stock location and bolt in to the same hoses? Or is a new compressor better made than the 16 year old original compressor?

Robert
