The fuse lives under the driver's seat. And the Bentley's wiring diagram is only correct for your Vanagon in the '82 and '85 editions. Later editions have the later USA two fuse on the door pillar diagram. Stan Wohlfarth of Bentley says that they'll put the old diagram back in in the next edition. <http://tech.bentleypublishers.com/ thread.jspa?forumID=49&threadID=1125&messageID=43345#43345>
