Subject: Cylinder Heads - new or rebuilt- ?? Single /or pairs

I have cracked the cylinder head with an easy-out trying to get a sheered off bolt out of the thermostat housing.

I suspect I may have to replace the whole d--n head. I've done a bit of wrenching on Vanagons but never done heads or headgaskets before.

I need a good source for a replacement head.?? Recommendations? (as low cost as possible....need to conserver $ on this project)

Do I have to replace both...or can I get away with just doing one?

Need a good step-by-step on head replacement....any good links in addition to Bentley much appreciated.

Warren C.
