Pinky, Thanks for the concern, but perhaps you need a new mechanic, since it doesn't sound like he qualifies as an "expert". As others have already told you, most anti-freeze is only toxic if ingested. Hopefully, an accident won't scramble my brain so bad that I decide to drink the leaking anti-freeze that's dripping from under my seat. Hey, guess what??? Brake fluid is dangerous too, and there's a bunch of it sitting under your instrument cluster cover. In the event of an accident you may be exposed to that as well. Danger, danger Will Robinson!!! Oops! There's battery acid under the passenger seat. Holy burn my skin Batman!!! (See accident comment above). If it makes you feel any better and helps you sleep at night, the three anti-freeze bottles under my seat only contain good ole H2O. It's got to be Frydaye.... Cheers, Jeff

Jeff >> Dear Jeff, Why do you carry antifreeze within the confines of the passenger compartment of your van? My mechanic told me that as innocuous as antifreeze might seem to be, it is an utterly ***toxic*** substance. Please, for your own safety and well being, allow only your mechanic to handle antifreeze. It is too, too dangerous to have it stored where it might be spilt in the unfortunate and unpredictable event of an accident. Some things just ***have*** to be left to the experts. Pinky |
