As a rule of thumb, if you are repainting to a new color it will be more costly than keeping the original color. In your case there is further complication in that you have a two-tone paint job.

Now this is just my opinion, but I think that if you want to get your Vanagon (or any other vehicle painted) because the old paint is looking tired (you didn't say why you wanted to get it painted), stick with the original color scheme. It will save you the most money. I'm mentioning this only because you said that cost would be an issue.
