Subject: Vanagon Seats and Sciatica
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

I have developed "Sciatica" in my right leg and it's giving me fits. Finding a chair to sit in that doesn't hurt is a problem. I have discovered that my Vanagon has the most perfect seating on my place for comfort with this body's malfunction. The way the seat is shaped with the side bolsters allows me to sit without the full pressure of the chair against the bottom/back of my leg, which gives me relief. I take my paperwork and reading out there to the van and can sit there and get my reading and other work done. A bit un handy, not being at my deskm, but it sure soes feel good.

Regarding the quality of the seats, I drove the Alaska Hiway from Anchorage to Birmingham, AL by myself once - 4500 miles, with no relief driver. I did 12 hours a day on the road. The only reason it was possible was the design of that seat.

Anybody else with a vanagon chair/seat story?? I'd like to know how others feel about the front seats in the vans. Mine are non-swivel captains chairs.

Regards,

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
