Subject:      What causes the hopping action?

Can anyone provide some insight into this? What is it that causes the normal
hop or engine shimmy when abruptly releasing accelerator or when engine
braking in first or second gear? Is there any kind of adjustment that can decrease
the hop? Thanks.
