I'll bet that the horn ring is worn and a loose end has kicked up and is making contact just like your key did. Pull the steering wheel to check. See:

In the meantime, get under the front of the van and unhook the wires, or pull the horn(y) fuse.

My van's wipers only work when the blinker or headlights are 'on'.
