I can not think of a "simple" way of accomplishing it. Just plugging into the charger port of the drill to run it will not work. In fact you usually can find a label that admonishes you about doing just that. There is likely some current limiting circuitry inside (the drill) that would have to be bypassed. My advice is to start with a twelve volt drill. Here is one for under $15. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=47155

Then just cutoff the AC adapter from the charger and hard wire it to the van's battery, through a fuse, of course.

Hi all, I am looking for a good simple reliable way to run a 2.4 volt cordless screwdriver motor hard wired to the vanagon 12 vt system.

The only thing I have found is a converter at radio shack that costs 20 bucks that will convert 12 vt to 3 volt at 1.2 amps.

I want to run a cordeless screwdriver motor hardwired to 12 vts. I need a couple amps. at 2.4 or 3 vt would be okay.

Any simple suggestions like using a heater blower resistor?

Doug
