Moving to something like Yahoogroups might be possible. It's free.
We would lose a lot of things like the search capability for existing
archives.
Due to the high traffic of the list, the existing server would
probably have to be dropped in at a hosting provider like Hurricane
Electric in San Jose. This costs money. It's possible if a person
either has an rack in a hosting facility and the rack has extra space.
Or, if a person has full-time access to a high capacity leased line.
Sorry, I don't have a rack or a leased line.
Although possible, I'm not sure if it is realistic to assume that a
residential or small business DSL line will support the outgoing
bandwidth and not affect normal use.
