Let's see.

Restaurants:
Morimoto's in Philadelphia (Japanese, run by the Iron Chef Morimoto).
Get the "chef's dinner" (very expensive, but good food).
The Inn at Little Washington, in Washington, Virginia in the shadow of
the Blue Ridge Mountains. Reservations are required. I've yet to eat
there, but it is regularly rated among the best restaurants in the
country (let alone the DC area).
various crab houses, Pope's Creek Maryland. There are several crab
houses in this location in Southern Maryland where you can get blue
crabs and other fine seafood in a casual dining restaurant.

Museums:
The Building Museum in Washington DC. I recommend it to all sorts of
folks, who are surprised by how good it is. Very cool building that it
is in too.
Air and Space Museum in Washington DC and Dulles, Virginia (the annex).
The annex has the big aircraft like the SR-71 and Concorde.
Museum of Natural History in Washington DC. See the Hope Diamond, and
the largest sphere of natural crystal (14 inch diameter)
Both the Air and Space Museum (DC) and the Museum of Natural History
also have Imax theatres. If you have never seen an Imax film, watch
something in one of them. Very impressive.

Natural Scenic sites:
Seneca Rocks, WV. A vertical slab of limestone that soars 700 feet
above the valley floor. One of the most popular climbing spots in the
east. There is also a hiking trail that will take you up to the top of
the ridge adjacent to the shear face (where you get to see how narrow
Seneca Rocks really is.)
Dolly Sods Wilderness in the Monogahela National Forest (relatively
close to Seneca Rocks, which is also in the Monogahela National
Forest). A dirt road will take you up to the top of the the Allegheny
front (that which separates the ridge and valley section of the
Appalachian Mountains from the Allegheny Plateau to the west. The Dolly
Sods was used for Alpine training by the US Army in World War II. it's
like a piece of Canada dropped in south of the Mason-Dixon line. [Sods
is a WV term for a treeless mountain top...The original owners where
named Dahle...which is pronounced the same as Dolly.]
Calvert Cliffs, Maryland. Go shark tooth hunting along these cliffs on
the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. A friend managed to find a 3" tooth
(largest I've ever found was about 1" long.
Harper's Ferry WV. Both scenic and historical. The location is at the
merger of the Shenandoah River and the Potomac River where they cut
through the Blue Ridge.

Historical sites:
Gettysburg National Battlefield: Possibly the best Civil War park.
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Monticello: Home of Thomas Jefferson, Charlottesville, Virginia
